Club Info
Brought together by the common fascination with and enjoyment of driving horses, a small group of folks formed the Llano Estacado Driving Society in the fall of 1988. Now entering our nineteenth year, the Society is a non-profit organization still sharing the delights of driving.

Purpose
The five objectives of the Llano Estacado Driving Society are:
- To promote the best interest of the sport of driving horses, ponies, and other equines, both competitively and for pleasure.
- To educate and inform the public with respect to safe driving methods.
- To periodically publish information on driving.
- To organize driving events and sponsor educational driving clinics.
- To collect and make available to members information about driving, carriages, equines, and equipment.
Activities
Llano Estacado Driving Society members participate in both organized and informal events. Parades, organized trail rides, and competitive driving show are just a few of the formal activities that will often have Llano Estacado Driving Society member participation. The Llano Estacado Driving Society also coordinates informal get-togethers for its members that may include training exchanges, demonstrations, and general sharing of time with horses, drivers, carts and carriages.
Parade of the Horse
The Llano Estacado Driving Society has been the organizing body behind the annual National Cowboy Symposium & Celebration Parade since 1996. One of the few non-motorized parades in the United States, the Parade of the Horse is held on the second weekend of September each year.
Membership
The only prerequisite for membership in LLEDS is an interest in driving; you do not even need to own a horse or horse drawn vehicle. Current members own all types of horses, ponies, and mules, and a wide variety of carts and carriages.
Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month in Lubbock, Texas.
